CHOCOLATE OTTERS

I have been working with Annamarie to try and breed chocolate otters. I used one of her black otters and put him to one of my havana rexes and one of my black rexes which carries havana. Athough they all came out as black otters this is the first generation. I have kept 2 does and a buck and Annamarie has a doe. And from there i will put them back to my havanas later in the year when they are old enough to breed.

This is my buck Biggins pictured when he was 6 weeks old. He's from perditor my havana rex.

This is my doe Desiree, sister to Biggins also pictured when she was 6 weeks old.

This is my other doe Bubbles pictured at 8 weeks, she is bred from billie my black rex(who carries havana).

Bubbles won best rex and best in show at northampton in november 08.

This is my second generation of chocolates, ive had 3 litters which were mixed black otters, havanas, and blacks, and of course chocolate otters. I had 4 chocolate otters in total i kept 3 and Annamarie has 1. Although they are chocolate otters and can be shown at this stage we still have some work to do on the finer points such as their tanning, belly colour, and coat. From this stage we will breed them back to Annamaries show quality black otters.

This is my first chocolate otter 'scully' born december, from my havana doe perditor and my black otter biggins.

This is my chocolate otter buck 'mulder' born on christmas day, bred from my havana rex hermoine and my black otter biggins. As you can see he's a little poseur!

This is 'reyes' my chocolate otter doe, sister to mulder.Shes not very good at having her picture taken its took my months to get a decent picture. She has just been mated up to one of Annamaries stunning black otter bucks.
